I enjoy eating, especially delicious food, so that is what we’re going to talk about first. If you’re staying downtown there are plenty of great places to eat. Here are a couple places that I highly recommend.

What to Do

Downtown Salt Lake City offers many sites and attractions to see and things to do. In the guide you will find a list of great option to keep you and your family busy during your visit. You will find activities that you can do on Saturday as well as great activities for Sunday. Here are just a few things you will find in the guide.

General Conference Guide

I hope you enjoyed this little ‘sneak peek’ into this incredible General Conference Guide. Now let’s talk about where you can get this guide!

Family Service Project

General Conference is a great time to serve others and invite a special spirit into your hearts. Consider holding a family service project. You can do it anytime over Conference weekend, whether it is the Friday before or in-between sessions.

Build a Tent

Thanks to modern technology, many families can enjoy General Conference from the comfort of their own home. Add a bit of fun to engage children by building a tent in your living room. As you’re building, discuss Mosiah 2:6:

Temple Cookies

Make some temple cookies this conference. They’re the perfect snack for all the sessions and they provide a great opportunity to learn a new skill (baking) while discussing something important (the temple).

Conference Potluck

Gather together with your closest friends and family at a General Conference potluck. You can gather as a ward on Sunday during the break between sessions or as a large family before the Saturday evening session. It’s also an especially great opportunity to include those who may be alone over General Conference.

New Ties

This tradition is inspired by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf. Every session of General Conference, President Uchtdorf wears a new tie. A new tie makes for a great gift and can especially set apart the priesthood session as a special and sacred time for boys and men. However, you don’t have to leave the girls out.

Goal Setting

General Conference is wonderful and inspiring. Each talk is meant to deepen our discipleship and draw us closer to Jesus Christ. However, implementing the things we learn can be hard. Consider having a family council after General Conference is over. Discuss what has inspired you and how you want to change. Set meaningful and specific goals.
