What is the 16th International Conference of the Learning Sciences (ICLS)?

The 16th International Conference of the Learning Sciences (ICLS) will be held as part of the ISLS Annual Meeting 2022 in Hiroshima, Japan.

What is the ICLS program?

The ICLS program welcomes papers across a multitude of topics of interest to the learning sciences—papers that present research on learning theories and processes, instructional practices, and design of environments to support learning outcomes.

Can I add co-authors to my research paper?

Short answer: Hell no! Depending on the editorial policies of the venue you submit, they may or may not allow to add co-authors during the review process. Some may even accept you to add co-authors after acceptance of the paper.

Why can’t I add authors to a journal article?

It probably also violates the journal’s (or conference’s) policy, which typically stresses the importance of having an appropriate authors’ list (and even sometimes provides criteria for authorship). The reason that editors may allow you to add authors is for special cases or circumstances.

Can I add an author after review?

However, generally speaking, it is permissible to add or remove an author if there’s a genuine reason for this. It may be that the peer review asked for a major revision, due to which you needed to make extensive changes with the help of another author.

Can I add co-authors after acceptance?

It’s possible to change the author list after acceptance, but the editors will be suspicious and will ask for an explanation of why nothing unethical is going on. I assume you discussed authorship with your advisor when you submitted the paper, and both of you approved of the author list at the time of submission.

Can authors be add after publication?

If an author needs to be added after publication, a corrigendum needs to be submitted by the authors.

Can you add authors after abstract submission?

Some top conferences have strictly stated rules and it is impossible to change the authors after the paper submission. They state this clearly and in the submission online system editing the authors fields are disabled after the deadline. However, some conferences allow adding authors after submission.

Can I change author order after acceptance?

Typically, journal editors do not encourage changes to authorship, particulary after a manuscript has been processed. When an authorship dispute arises after a paper has been submitted/accepted for publication, journals require all the authors involved to give consent for this change.

Can we add two corresponding authors?

Yes you can. If it is correct or not that is another story. You can put more than one corresponding author in an article. I have one article with two corresponding authors and I saw other articles in the same situation.

Can I add an author to a published paper?

Answer: As you can understand, this may be viewed a bit suspiciously, as (co)authorship is one of the commonest areas of dispute in research publications. However, if there is a genuine reason, you may certainly go ahead and give it a try.

Can I change corresponding author after publication?

Corresponding Author: For changes to corresponding author you must include a completed ‘Corresponding Author Change Request Form’ signed by all co-authors. Confirm that the new corresponding author is registered in the Journal Submission system.

When can you be added as the author of the paper?

As per the ICMJE guidelines on authorship, a person can qualify to be an author only if he/she meets all of the following criteria: Made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND.

Do conference proceedings count as publications?

yes, it’s a publication. It is not exactly the same kind of publication as a journal publication, and depending on the field it may be viewed as less or more important than a journal publication, but it still counts as a publication.

Are conference abstracts considered publications?

In one word, no. Abstracts are not peer-reviewed publications, and don’t contain enough information to be evaluated as such. Some people include abstracts in their lists of publications, others don’t.

Who is more important first author or corresponding author?

However, the author who guides all authors in planning a research work and who may provide his/ her lab, lab facilities and other requirements is the Corresponding author. Corresponding author is the most important author in a research article.
