Appalachian State Mountaineers

Arkansas State Red Wolves
No other four-year University uses “Red Wolves” as its nickname. Changing from its previous name of “Indians” in 2008, Howl the red wolf is the costumed mascot of Arkansas State.
Coastal Carolina Chanticleers
Chauncey the Chanticleer mascot represents the proud and fierce rooster from Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, giving Coastal Carolina one of the more unique mascots in all of sports.
Georgia Southern Eagles
Gus the Eagle was once an ESPN “favorite mascot” nominee, and according to Georgia Southern, makes over 300 appearances each year at athletics, university, and community events.
Georgia State Panthers
Pounce the Panther was created in 1993, and appears at many Georgia State athletic events wearing the uniform of the sport being played.
Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns
Currently, Louisiana is the only school in the Sun Belt who doesn’t have a costumed mascot. Over the years, the Ragin’ Cajuns have had several, and most recently, Cayenne the Pepper.
